School in Japan

Today we spent the whole day in school. We were able to practice our show, write in Japanese calligraphy, go to gym class, and some had some practices after school. The boys at track practice were pretty surprised at how fast Kennedy can run! Emily and I met with three of the mothers this morning with a translator to make sure everyone is well and happy. We will meet with all the moms eventually. Emily and I also started grading homework and we cannot believe how much they have! When I took a group to Costa Rica, the work load was nothing like this!Emily and I ate lunch with 4th graders today and it would be difficult to find a more enthusiastic group!I had dinner with Kennedy's family after school and it was wonderful! Gyoza, corn and egg soup, Japanese potato salad, onigiri (rice balls), some kind of a pancake with a really long name, Japanese sweets, and ice cream! They admitted that they do not eat like that all the time! We are excited about our pottery wheel experience tomorrow!
